“NI” sound in "Knee".

に Memorization Story

The hiragana に has KENNY on the left, who we learned about in the hiragana け. Combining those two hiragana, we get けに. Kenny is reaching for the COAT HANGER from こ here, to hang up his KNEE-length NINJA Coat!

ニ Memorization Story

The katakana on the other hand is just TWO lines. Which is convenient, because the word に in Japanese means TWO! And the KANJI is just 2 lines, too!
